Standard, Medium and Large also include AI prompt tracking (150, 300 and 600 prompts) and AI visibility dashboards (3, 6 and 12).

The $49 Starter plan

Moz describes Starter as "designed specifically for individuals managing a single website". The page does not list its limits. It is the cheapest way into Moz's link and keyword data, but ask what it caps before relying on it for client work.

The yearly price is a first-year price

The yearly figures are labelled as billed for your first year. Standard yearly saves $238, Medium $429 and Large $720. The page did not state the renewal price, so ask before you pay, and put a reminder in the calendar a month before renewal.

What Moz Pro's tiers limit in practice

Sites. Standard tracks three sites. That is your own plus two competitors, or three small clients. Medium's 10 sites is the first plan that fits an agency.

Keywords. 300 on Standard is tight. A local business tracking 30 terms across five locations already uses half of it.

Users. One, two and three users are included. Beyond that, every extra person is $49 a month.

Seats: what a team of three pays

Three routes, on our arithmetic from monthly prices:

RouteCost a monthWhat you get
Standard plus two seats$1973 sites, 300 keywords
Medium plus one seat$22810 sites, 1,500 keywords
Large$29925 sites, 3,000 keywords

If three people really share one or two sites, Standard with seats is cheapest. If they handle clients, Medium plus a seat gives you far more room for $31 extra.

The Moz Pro add-on menu

Add-onPrice
Extra user seat$49 a month
Extra campaign$10 a month
200 more tracked keywords$20 a month
50,000 more pages crawled$15 a month
10,000 more keyword queries$10 a month
5 more keyword lists$25 a month
5 more link tracking lists$25 a month
Extra AI visibility dashboard$20 each
100 more AI prompts$50

Adding 200 keywords for $20 is often cheaper than moving up a plan. Standard plus 400 extra keywords is $139 a month, still $40 under Medium, but you stay on three sites.

The free account and the trial

A free Moz Community account gives limited access to MozBar, Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer. For checking a competitor's Domain Authority or a handful of keywords now and then, that may be all you need.

The page offers a free trial but does not say how long it lasts or whether a card is needed. Check both on the signup screen.

Cheaper or stronger alternatives

Prices from each vendor's own page on 4 October 2026, billed monthly:

  • SE Ranking Core, $129. Tracks 2,000 keywords daily across 10 projects, against Moz Standard's 300 keywords. See SE Ranking pricing.
  • Ahrefs Lite, $129. Five projects, one user and 750 tracked keywords updated weekly. See Ahrefs pricing and Ahrefs vs Moz.
  • Semrush SEO, $139. Five websites and 500 keywords tracked daily, with a wider toolset. Semrush vs Moz covers the trade.

The Moz alternatives page and the SEO competitor analysis tools roundup go further.

For watching what competitors change rather than researching keywords, Figo is $49 a month for three competitors and reports their new pages, ads, rankings and reviews every Monday. Ours, so judge accordingly. It has no link metrics or keyword research, so it does not replace Moz.

Is Moz Pro worth it?

For a single site, Starter or Standard is a fair price for Moz's link metrics and a clean interface. For rank tracking at volume, it is expensive per keyword next to SE Ranking. Buy monthly until you know your keyword count, and do not take the yearly price without the renewal figure.

Questions people ask

Is Moz Pro free?

No, but a free Moz Community account gives limited access to MozBar, Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer. That covers occasional lookups, not ongoing tracking.

Does Moz offer a student or nonprofit discount?

Moz's FAQ says there is no student discount. Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits are invited to contact Moz about one.

Can I cancel Moz Pro at any time?

Yes. The FAQ says you can cancel or change plans at any time. If you paid yearly, check what happens to the unused months before you cancel.

Is Moz Pro cheaper than Ahrefs?

At the entry level, yes. Moz Standard is $99 a month billed monthly against $129 for Ahrefs Lite, and Moz adds seats at $49 against $40 to $100 on Ahrefs.
