Mention pricing: what it costs now and what to ask

Mention pricing is no longer published. Since Agorapulse bought it, one Company plan is sold by demo. What we know, how to estimate it, and priced alternatives.

Mention pricing is no longer published. When we read Mention's pricing page on 4 October 2026, it showed one plan, called Company, with the price slot left blank and every button leading to a demo request. In practice Mention is now quote only.

That changed after Agorapulse acquired Mention. The tool is now branded "Mention by Agorapulse", and Agorapulse says Mention's publishing and reply features are being retired in favour of its own product. What remains is the listening tool.

Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.

Advanced alerts accept Boolean queries of up to 2,000 characters. The site menu also promises "data up to 2 years", "1 billion sources" and real-time monitoring.

The one number on the page

The only figure that rendered is the saving: yearly billing saves "360" in your chosen currency, and the banner calls yearly billing "2 months free". If both lines describe the same plan, two months would be worth 360, which points to a monthly list price around 180.

Treat that as a clue, not a price. It is our arithmetic on a page whose real price did not load, and a demo-led plan with an account manager is often priced to the customer. Ask for the number in writing.

The free trial is an Agorapulse trial

Mention's header still has a "Start a free trial" button. It leads to an Agorapulse page offering a 30 day trial with no credit card, with Mention listening "built right into your Agorapulse trial".

So you can test the listening before talking to sales, but you are trialling Agorapulse, and the price you are quoted afterwards may come bundled with it. Agorapulse publishes its own plans from $79 per user a month billed annually ($99 monthly), with an Advanced Listening add-on that is demo only and shows no price.

How to estimate and negotiate a Mention quote

Go into the demo with the answers to these written down, and ask the account manager to answer each one in the quote.

  1. How many people need a login. "Multi-user" is included, but ask whether price scales with users.
  2. How many topics and mentions you need. Set up your real queries during the trial and note the weekly volume. That is your best evidence against an inflated tier.
  3. Whether you need history. Historical data is an add-on. If you only need mentions from today forward, say so and leave it out.
  4. Whether you need the API. Same logic. Most small teams do not.
  5. Monthly or yearly. The page pushes yearly. Ask for a monthly option or a shorter first term if you are unsure the tool will stick.
  6. Whether Agorapulse is bundled. If you already pay for Agorapulse seats, ask what Mention adds to that bill. If you do not, ask for listening on its own.

Your strongest lever is published prices from rivals. Brand24 starts at $199 a month billed annually and Awario at $29. A quote far above those needs a reason, such as source coverage you have checked yourself.

Published-price alternatives

ToolLowest published priceNotes
Brand24$199 a month annually, $249 monthly3 keywords, 2,000 mentions a month, 1 user
Awario$29 a month annually, $49 monthly3 topics, 30,000 mentions a month, 1 user
Syften$29.95 a monthReddit, forums and communities
F5BotFree for personal use, then $9.99 a monthReddit, Hacker News, Lobsters
Talkwalker AlertsFreeEmail alerts for news, blogs and forums

Brand24 is the most direct swap. It lists social networks, news, blogs, Reddit, reviews and podcasts among its sources, and the plans and limits are on the page. Every tier is broken down in Brand24 pricing, and the Brand24 vs Mention page compares the two tools feature by feature.

Awario is the budget pick if mention volume is the thing you need most.

Free alerts cover more than people expect when volume is low. The Mention alternatives page and our list of social listening tools go through the rest of the field.

When Mention is still worth the call

Mention makes sense if you are already on Agorapulse, or about to be, and want listening in the same place you publish and reply. One login and one bill is worth something to a busy social team.

It makes less sense as a standalone listening tool for a small business. You will pay a negotiated price for something Brand24 and Awario sell off the page.

Mention's own menu lists competitive analysis as a use case. If watching what two or three rivals do is the real job, a listening tool only shows you what people say about them. Figo, ours, is $49 a month for three competitors and reports their new ads, pages, pricing changes, rankings, social posts and reviews each Monday. It does no listening, so keep a listening tool if you need your own mentions.

Verdict

Mention is a quote-only Agorapulse product now. Run the 30 day trial to measure your real volume, ask for every price in writing, and compare the quote against Brand24's and Awario's published plans before you sign anything yearly.

Questions people ask

Who owns Mention?

Agorapulse, the social media management company. It announced the deal in a blog post dated 22 May 2025, and the product is now branded Mention by Agorapulse.

Can I still schedule posts in Mention?

Agorapulse says Mention's Publish and Respond features are being retired in favour of Agorapulse itself, so publishing and replying now belong in Agorapulse.

Does Mention have an API?

Yes, but not in the base plan. The pricing page lists API access and historical data as paid add-ons to the Company plan, with no price shown.

Why do other sites list Mention prices?

Not from Mention's own page, which today shows a single demo-led Company plan with no figure. Treat any Mention price you find elsewhere as unconfirmed until Mention puts it in writing.
