The best Mention alternatives in 2026
Mention is now part of Agorapulse and its price sits behind a demo. These Mention alternatives publish real prices, from free alerts to Brand24 and Awario.
The best Mention alternatives depend on which part of Mention you used. If it was listening, Brand24 and Awario publish their prices and run without a sales call. If it was publishing and replying, Mention is steering you to Agorapulse anyway. If it was a few keyword alerts, free tools will cover it.
Mention (mention.com) is now "Mention by Agorapulse". Agorapulse announced the acquisition in a post dated 22 May 2025. The pricing page has since narrowed to one Company plan: multiple users, Boolean search, 75+ review sites and a dedicated account manager. On 4 October 2026 the price slot rendered blank ("Starting at $ Per month") and every button asked for a demo.
Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.
Why people leave Mention
The price is not on the page. There is a yearly option ("Pay yearly and get 2 months free"), but no figure to apply it to. Our Mention pricing page tracks what is and is not published.
History and API cost extra. The Company plan lists historical data access and API access as paid add-ons. Looking back at last year's mentions is another line on the quote.
Publishing is going away. Mention's Publish and Respond features are being deprecated in favour of Agorapulse. If you used Mention as a light scheduler, it will stop doing that job.
It is now demo-led. A solo marketer who wanted to sign up, add three keywords and pay by card now has a sales conversation first.

Brand24, the most direct swap
Brand24 does what most people bought Mention for: mentions of your name across social media and the web, with sentiment. Individual covers 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions a month for 1 user; Team covers 7 keywords, 10,000 mentions and unlimited users. There is a 14 day trial with no card, and API access is an extra $149.
The two are close enough to deserve a head-to-head: Brand24 vs Mention.
Pick Brand24 if you want the closest like-for-like replacement and a price you can see before you talk to anyone.
Awario, if budget is the reason
Awario Starter is $29 a month billed annually ($49 monthly) for 3 topics, each with unlimited keywords, and 30,000 new mentions a month. Pro is $89 annually ($149 monthly) for 15 topics and 10 team members. Boolean search and sentiment are included, and the trial runs on Starter with no card.
Pick Awario if you used Mention on a small budget and mainly need the alerts and the mention feed.
Agorapulse, if you used Mention to publish
Agorapulse is where Mention's owner wants publishing users to go. Standard is $79 per user a month billed annually ($99 monthly) with 10 social profiles, and there is a 30 day trial with no card. Listening beyond the basics is an "Advanced Listening" add-on with no published price, so if listening is your main job, Agorapulse solves only the publishing half.
Pick Agorapulse if scheduling, the inbox and reporting were the parts of Mention you used most.
Syften and F5Bot, for Reddit and communities
If your mentions mostly happen in communities, specialist tools are cheaper. Syften covers Reddit, Hacker News, forums, GitHub and Slack communities from $29.95 a month, with a 14 day trial. F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters; its free tier is for personal use with up to a 2 hour delay, and Silver is $9.99 a month. Our list of Reddit monitoring tools has more.
Pick one of these if Reddit threads were the mentions that mattered.
Google Alerts and Talkwalker Alerts, free
Both email you when a term appears. Google Alerts follows new Google Search results; Talkwalker Alerts covers news, blogs, discussion forums and Twitter in 22 languages. No dashboards, no sentiment, no history. For a business with a handful of mentions a month, that is often enough. Our guide to brand monitoring shows how to set both up so they do not miss the obvious.
Pick the free alerts if you rarely got more than a few Mention alerts a week.
Brandwatch and Meltwater, if you outgrew Mention
If you are leaving because Mention became too small, Brandwatch and Meltwater are the enterprise suites. Both are quote only, and Meltwater's pricing page says contracts are typically 12 months.
Pick one of these if you need research-grade listening or PR coverage and have an enterprise budget.
If your Mention alerts were competitor names
A common Mention setup is one alert per competitor. That tells you how often people talk about them. It does not tell you that a rival launched a new pricing page, started running Meta ads or published ten landing pages.
Figo covers that second job. Ours, so judge accordingly. Once a week it checks each competitor's Google, Meta and TikTok ads, new and changed pages, published pricing, Instagram and Facebook posts, Reddit threads that mention them, rankings and reviews, and sends a plain-English briefing on Monday. $49 a month for 3 competitors, $99 for 8, $249 for 20 across 5 client workspaces.
It does not replace Mention for your own brand: there is no sentiment, no news coverage, no X and no alert within the hour. Keep a listening tool for that.
The short answer
Leaving because you cannot see the price: Brand24, or Awario if money is tight. Leaving because publishing is going: Agorapulse. Leaving because you never had much volume: Google Alerts and Talkwalker Alerts, which cost nothing.
Questions people ask
Who owns Mention now?
Agorapulse. It announced the deal in a blog post dated 22 May 2025, and the product is now branded Mention by Agorapulse.
How much does Mention cost in 2026?
Mention's pricing page shows a single Company plan, but the price slot was blank when read on 4 October 2026 and every button leads to a demo. Historical data and API access are listed as paid add-ons.
Is there a free alternative to Mention?
For low volume, yes. Google Alerts and Talkwalker Alerts are free email alerts, and F5Bot has a free personal tier for Reddit and Hacker News. None of them do sentiment or dashboards.
Can I still publish and reply to posts from Mention?
That side is being wound down. Mention's Publish and Respond features are being deprecated in favour of Agorapulse, so anyone scheduling posts from Mention should plan a move.
