Brand24 vs Mention: social listening compared
Brand24 vs Mention compared: published prices against a demo-only plan, sources, Boolean search, add-ons and trials, and which listening tool suits which team.
Brand24 vs Mention is a choice between a listening tool that prints its prices and lets you start today, and one that has moved to a single demo-led plan since Agorapulse bought it. Brand24 starts at $199 a month billed annually, with a 14 day trial and no card. Mention, now sold as Mention by Agorapulse, shows one Company plan with Boolean search, 75+ review sites and an account manager, but no price appeared on its pricing page. For a small team that wants to start this week, Brand24 is the simpler buy. For a team already using Agorapulse, Mention is the natural fit.
Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.
Brand24 vs Mention at a glance
| Brand24 | Mention | |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | $199 to $599 a month billed annually; Enterprise from $1,499 | None shown; demo only |
| Plans | Five tiers by keywords and mention volume | One Company plan |
| Free trial | 14 days, no card | None shown on the pricing page |
| Sources (vendor's claim) | "25 million online sources", 108 languages | "Over 1 billion sources" |
| Sources named | X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, Telegram, Spotify, news, blogs, forums, reviews, TripAdvisor, App Store | Social networks, plus 75+ review sites on the Company plan |
| Tracked keywords | 3 to 25 by plan | Not stated; Boolean alert queries up to 2,000 characters |
| Analysis | Sentiment, AI insights, reach | Reach, volume, sentiment, location, source, emotion |
| Users | 1 on Individual; unlimited from Team | Multi-user |
| Paid add-ons | API, $149 | API access, historical data |
Do not read 25 million against 1 billion as a quality gap. The two vendors count "sources" differently and neither page defines the term. Test both on your own brand name and compare what comes back.
What Brand24 costs
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Keywords | Mentions a month | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | $249 | $199 | 3 | 2,000 | 1 |
| Team | $349 | $299 | 7 | 10,000 | Unlimited |
| Pro | $499 | $399 | 12 | 40,000 | Unlimited |
| Business | $699 | $599 | 25 | 100,000 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | From $1,499 | From $1,499 | Custom | Custom | Unlimited |
API access is an extra $149; the page does not say whether that is monthly. Details are on Brand24 pricing.
The limit that bites is keywords. Three keywords on Individual covers your brand, one product and one competitor. Add a second competitor or a common misspelling of your name and you are on Team at $299 a month billed annually. Mentions run out next: a brand that gets picked up by a news story can pass 2,000 in a few days.
What Mention costs
Mention's pricing page shows a "Starting at $ Per month" line with the figure blank, and every button asks for a demo. It does say that paying yearly gets two months free, offers USD, EUR and GBP, and lists historical data and API access as paid add-ons. More on Mention pricing.
Until you have a quote, there is no fair price comparison. That is itself a point for Brand24 if you are a small buyer who wants to know the number before a call.
Where Brand24 is stronger
- Price and speed. Published prices, a 14 day trial with no card, and you can be collecting mentions the same day.
- Named source breadth. Its homepage lists podcasts on Spotify, Telegram, Reddit, TikTok, TripAdvisor and the App Store alongside the usual networks, news, blogs and forums.
- Unlimited users from the Team plan, so a whole marketing team can log in without seat maths.
Where Mention is stronger
- Query depth. Boolean search with Advanced Alert queries up to 2,000 characters. That matters for a brand whose name is a common word and needs a long list of exclusions to cut noise.
- Review coverage. 75+ review sites on the Company plan.
- Agorapulse. Agorapulse announced the purchase in a post dated 22 May 2025. Mention's own Publish and Respond features are being deprecated in favour of Agorapulse, so if you publish and reply in Agorapulse already, Mention is becoming its listening layer.
- A dedicated account manager on the plan.
Brand24 vs Mention: who should pick which
Pick Brand24 if you want published prices, a no-card trial, and wide source coverage for a handful of keywords.
Pick Mention if you already use Agorapulse, need long Boolean queries to cut noise, or want review-site coverage and an account manager.
Pick neither if your mention volume is low. Google Alerts plus a saved Reddit search catches a fair share for nothing. The social listening tools roundup and Mention alternatives cover the cheaper end.
Listening is not the same as watching competitors
Both tools report what people say. Neither tells you what a competitor did: launched ads, rewrote its pricing page, picked up a run of reviews. The difference is explained in social listening vs social monitoring.
If knowing what named competitors changed each week is the real job, Figo reports their ads, page and pricing changes, reviews and the Reddit threads that mention them in a Monday briefing, from $49 a month. Ours, so judge accordingly. It has no sentiment analysis and does not listen across the web, so it does not replace either tool; Figo vs Brand24 covers where the two overlap.
Questions people ask
Is Mention still available?
Yes. Agorapulse bought it and now sells it as Mention by Agorapulse, with a single Company plan sold through demos. Mention's own publishing and response features are being retired in favour of Agorapulse's.
Does Brand24 have a free plan?
No. It has a 14 day free trial with no credit card, after which the cheapest plan is $199 a month billed annually or $249 billed monthly.
Which tool covers Reddit and TikTok?
Brand24 names both Reddit and TikTok among its sources on its homepage. Mention's homepage shows major social networks by logo and claims over a billion sources, but the pages we read did not name Reddit, so ask in the demo.
Can either tool track competitors?
Yes, in the sense that you can set up a search for a competitor's name and see what people say about it. Neither shows what the competitor itself changed, such as new ads, pages or prices.
See it on your own competitors
Figo checks their ads, pages, rankings and reviews every week, then tells you what to do in plain words. Set up in two minutes.
