SparkToro pricing: free plan, paid tiers and limits

SparkToro pricing starts free with 3 previews a month, then $450 a year for Personal or $150 a month for Business. What a report buys you, and cheaper options.

SparkToro pricing starts with a free plan of 3 preview searches a month. Paid plans are Personal at $450 a year (annual only), Business at $150 a month or $1,344 a year, and Agency at $300 a month or $2,700 a year. The difference between them is mostly how many reports you can run and how many people can log in.

Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026. SparkToro's is at sparktoro.com/pricing.

What a report is, and what each costs

SparkToro sells audience research. You describe an audience in a sentence ("vegan home cooks who follow plant-based nutrition creators" is the page's own example) and a report tells you where those people spend their attention.

Every paid report includes the same data types: demographics, the social accounts they follow, the networks they use, the websites they read, the publications they trust, the podcasts they download, YouTube channels, subreddits, apps and AI tools they use, the keywords they search, the words they use in their bios, and the prompts they give AI assistants.

Since the data is the same on every paid plan, the useful comparison is cost per report. On our arithmetic, using the full monthly allowance:

PlanPrice per report
Personal (annual)about $9.38
Business (monthly)$6.00
Business (annual)$4.48
Agency (annual)$0.90

The page does not say whether unused reports roll over, so treat these as best cases. If you run two reports a month, Personal is the cheapest way in by far.

What each tier really limits

Free. Three previews a month, preview data only. Enough to judge whether SparkToro knows anything about your niche, not enough to plan a campaign.

Personal. Four full reports a month for one person, with your own logo on reports and MCP access for AI assistants. It is annual only, so you commit $450 up front.

Business. The jump is in reports (25) and seats (10). It adds "Take Action" and the Persona Builder. This is the plan for an in-house team that researches regularly.

Agency. 250 reports and 100 users, plus single sign-on, SCIM user provisioning and payment by ACH or wire transfer.

Hidden costs and terms

No refunds for partial use. Cancel any time and you keep access until the period ends, but the money is spent. On the annual-only Personal plan that means the whole $450.

Plan changes are pro-rated. Upgrading mid-cycle does not charge you twice, so starting small and moving up is safe.

The API costs extra. Building SparkToro data into your own tools uses a separate pay-as-you-go credit product. Its prices sit on a separate page we did not read.

The one-week pass. The page's description mentions one-week, single-payment access, but it was not on offer on the page itself. Ask support if you only need a short burst.

What a small team actually needs

Say you run marketing for a small company and want to know which podcasts, newsletters and subreddits your buyers follow before planning next quarter.

  • Research once a quarter: the free plan first, then Personal if the previews look useful. Four reports a month is more than you will use.
  • Two or more people, or research every week: Business, monthly at first. Switch to annual once you know you use it.
  • Agencies running reports for many clients: Agency's per-report cost is far lower than anything else here.

Many small teams need a handful of reports a year, not a month. That makes the free plan plus a single month of Business, cancelled after, a sensible pattern.

Cheaper ways to answer the same question

SparkToro packages questions you can partly answer by hand:

  • Ask your customers. A three-question survey ("What do you read, listen to and follow for work?") sent to 50 customers can beat any tool for your exact audience.
  • Search Reddit and YouTube for your category terms and note which communities and channels keep coming up.
  • Look at competitors' audiences. Where rivals advertise, sponsor and guest tells you where they think your shared buyers are. Our guide to doing competitor research in an afternoon covers the free sources.

Paid tools that overlap:

ToolLowest published priceAngle
BuzzSumo$159 a month annuallyWhat content gets shared, by topic or domain
Similarweb$125 a month annuallyWebsite traffic and where it comes from
Exploding Topics$39 a monthTopics growing in search

Neither BuzzSumo nor Similarweb answers SparkToro's question directly. They come at it from the content side and the traffic side. See BuzzSumo pricing and Similarweb pricing for their plans, and our list of market research tools for the wider field.

Verdict

SparkToro is fairly priced and unusually transparent, with a real free plan. Start free, buy Personal once the previews have proved useful, and only move to Business when several people need it or you run more than four reports a month. Pay for Business annually only once you know your habit, because there are no refunds for unused time.
