Semrush pricing in 2026: every plan and the real cost
Semrush pricing runs $139 to $549 a month billed monthly, or $117.33 to $455.67 on annual billing. Every plan, the seat add-on and what small teams need.
Semrush pricing starts at $139 a month for the SEO plan and runs to $549 a month for Advanced, billed monthly. On annual billing the same plans cost $117.33 to $455.67 a month, a saving of up to 17%. Enterprise is quoted. Extra users start at $45 a month each, so a team pays more than the number on the plan card.
Prices below were read from semrush.com/pricing on 4 October 2026.

If you remember Pro, Guru and Business, those names are gone from the pricing page. The ladder now opens with an SEO-only plan, and every tier above it adds a daily allowance of AI search prompts on top of the same SEO tools.
What each plan limits in practice
SEO, $139. Five websites and 500 keywords tracked daily, with Position Tracking, Site Audit, and basic keyword research and competitor analysis. For one business site this covers the ordinary SEO job. The 500-keyword cap is the limit you meet first if you track every product or location page.
Starter, $199. The same five websites and 500 keywords as SEO. The extra $60 buys AI search tracking: 50 prompts a day for one domain, 300 AI visibility reports a day and MCP access. If you have no plan to act on how AI assistants describe you, this tier adds nothing you will use.
Pro+, $299. Fifteen websites, 1,500 tracked keywords, historical data and multi-location and device tracking, with 100 prompts a day. Historical data matters for competitor research: without it you see where a rival ranks today, not how they got there.
Advanced, $549. Forty websites, 5,000 keywords, SEO share of voice, API data integration and 200 prompts a day. This is an agency plan, priced for someone billing clients.
Enterprise. Unlimited projects, single sign-on and a dedicated manager, priced through a demo.
The Semrush costs that are not on the plan card
Extra users. The Additional Users add-on starts at $45 a month per person. On our arithmetic, three people on the SEO plan pay from $229 a month on monthly billing, and three on Starter from $289.
Other toolkits. The pricing hub sells AI Visibility, Traffic & Market, Local, Content, Social, Advertising and AI PR as separate toolkits, each with its own price that we did not read. If you want traffic analytics or local listings management, check those tabs before you assume the SEO plan includes them.
Smaller add-ons. Lead Generation is $90 a month. Two reporting add-ons cost $10 and $20 a month.
Annual billing. Saving up to 17% means paying for a year at a time. That is a good deal once you know which plan fits and a poor one while you are still finding out.
The free account and the seven day trial
The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. It gives you one demo project and 10 reports a day across the main tools. Ten reports a day is enough for a quick look at a competitor's top keywords, not enough to research a market.
The paid plans carry a trial: the page says "Try Semrush free for seven days. Cancel anytime." It did not say whether a card is needed for the trial, so assume one is and set a reminder for day six.
What a one to three person team needs
Most small teams overbuy. Here is a rough guide based on the limits above.
| Your situation | Plan | Cost a month |
|---|---|---|
| One person, one site | SEO | $139 monthly, $117.33 annual |
| Two or three people, one site | SEO plus users | From $229 monthly |
| Small agency, 6 to 15 clients | Pro+ | $299 monthly, $248.17 annual |
| You report on AI search to clients | Starter or above | From $199 monthly |
The SEO plan is the right answer for most single businesses. Moving up is justified by projects and keywords, not by features you saw in a demo.
Cheaper ways to do the same job
Semrush is several tools sold as one, and each of them has a cheaper specialist. The Semrush alternatives page covers them in detail. In brief:
- Rank tracking only. SE Ranking's Core plan is $129 a month and tracks 2,000 keywords daily against Semrush's 500 on the SEO plan. See SE Ranking pricing.
- Backlinks and keyword research. Ahrefs Lite is $129 a month, though seats and credits add up. See Ahrefs pricing and the Semrush vs Ahrefs comparison.
- Next to nothing. Google Search Console covers your own rankings for free, and the free Semrush alternatives cover more of the job without a bill.
If what you open Semrush for is checking on four or five competitors, Figo does that for less: $49 a month for three competitors or $99 for eight, with a Monday email on their new pages, Google, Meta and TikTok ads, rankings and reviews. Ours, so judge accordingly. It does no keyword research, site audits or backlinks, so it does not replace Semrush for SEO work. Figo vs Semrush sets out the split.
Is Semrush worth the price?
Yes, if one person opens it several times a week for SEO work and the five-website SEO plan fits. Few tools cover as much ground for the money.
No, if you are on Starter or above without using the extra allowance, or paying for seats for people who only read reports. Those are the two leaks that turn a $139 tool into a $400 one.
