The best Distill alternatives in 2026
Distill is free for 25 monitors, then $12 to $80+ a month. Here are the Distill alternatives that run in the cloud, share with a team, or find new pages.
The best Distill alternatives depend on which Distill limit you hit. Distill (Distill Web Monitor, made by Neemb LLC) is excellent for one technical person watching pages from their own browser. People move on when they need checks that run with the laptop shut, a team sharing one watchlist, or alerts about pages they never knew to add.
Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.
What Distill does well, and where it stops
Distill's free plan is generous: 25 monitors (5 in the cloud), 1,000 cloud checks a month and a 6 hour cloud interval. Starter is $15 a month, or $12 billed yearly, for 50 monitors checked as often as every 10 minutes. Professional is $35, or $28 yearly, for 150 monitors every 5 minutes. Flexi starts at $80 with usage billed beyond the base.
Its signature feature is the local monitor. You add it in the browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Opera) or the desktop app, it runs on your own machine, and Distill says it can watch password-protected pages. A visual selector lets you pick exactly which part of a page counts.
The limits follow from the same design.
Local checks need your browser open. Distill's docs say so plainly: "Keep the browser/app open for checks to run." Close the laptop and local monitoring stops.
Cloud monitoring is rationed. Five cloud monitors on the free plan, and every plan caps cloud checks per month.
Plans are individual. A watchlist the whole team shares means the Enterprise plan, which has no published price.
It only watches URLs you give it. Distill will not tell you a competitor published a page you never added.

Visualping, the default switch
Visualping's free plan covers 5 pages and 150 checks a month. Personal 1K is $14 monthly or $10 a month billed yearly for 10 pages and checks as often as every 15 minutes. Business 20K ($140 monthly, $100 a month yearly) is the first plan with several users: 5 people and 200 pages. Everything runs in the cloud. We compare the two directly in Visualping vs Distill.
Pick Visualping if you want monitors that run without your browser and a team plan with a published price.
ChangeTower, the cheap cloud option
Free for 3 pages checked daily. Lite is $12 a month ($10 yearly) for 25 pages checked daily; Essential is $36 ($29 yearly) for 100 pages checked hourly and 3 extra team members. Element-level selection and Slack alerts only arrive on Business at $78. Our ChangeTower alternatives page lays out its plan limits.
Pick ChangeTower if you need cloud checks on a budget and daily or hourly is fine.
Wachete, the cheapest paid tier
Wachete's free plan watches 5 static pages and 1 dynamic page every 24 hours. Starter is $5.40 a month for 50 pages checked every 60 minutes; Standard is $10.90 for 100 pages every 10 minutes. It says it works on "pages that need a login" and sends alerts by email, phone notification, Slack, Teams, Discord or Telegram.
Pick Wachete if cost is why you are leaving and you still need logged-in pages.
PageCrawl, if you want new pages too
PageCrawl's free plan covers 6 pages and 220 checks a month. Standard is $16 monthly or $13.33 a month billed yearly, and the $30 tier ($25 yearly) adds 4 users and 2 workspaces. It renders pages in a full JavaScript browser, supports logins, attaches a one to three sentence AI summary to each alert, and can "automatically find and track pages in a website as soon as they are published". Alerts go to email, Slack, Teams, Discord, Telegram or webhooks.
Pick PageCrawl if you liked Distill's control but want it in the cloud, with new-page discovery.
Hexowatch, for unusual monitoring jobs
Hexowatch has no free plan. Pro is $29 monthly or $24.17 a month billed yearly ($290 upfront). Its monitor types go well beyond page text: sitemap changes, technology stack, source code, keyword presence, availability, domain WHOIS and backlinks.
Pick Hexowatch if you want to watch how a site is built, not only what it says.
Fluxguard, for whole sites
Fluxguard crawls entire websites rather than single URLs. Free covers 3 sites; Standard is $110 a month ($93 billed yearly) for 25 sites and 3 users. It is priced for large sites with hundreds of pages, not a handful of URLs.
Pick Fluxguard if the thing you watch is a whole site and the budget is there.
Figo, if the pages belong to competitors
Ours, so judge accordingly. If your Distill monitors are mostly competitors' pricing and product pages, Figo does that job differently. You add the competitor, not the URL. Once a week Figo reads their sitemap and pages, reports new and changed pages and blog posts, and pulls their published pricing and offers, alongside their ads, rankings, Instagram and Facebook posts and reviews. $49 a month for 3 competitors, $99 for 8, $249 for 20 across 5 client workspaces.
It is the wrong tool for everything else Distill does: stock alerts, job boards, logged-in dashboards, element selectors and checks every few minutes. Figo looks once a week.
Pick Figo if your watchlist is really a list of competitors and you would rather not maintain their URLs by hand.
Which Distill alternative to pick
- Checks must run with your laptop closed: Visualping or ChangeTower.
- The team needs one shared watchlist: Visualping Business, ChangeTower Essential, or PageCrawl's $30 tier with 4 users.
- Cheapest possible: Wachete.
- New pages found automatically: PageCrawl, or Hexowatch's sitemap monitor.
- Watching competitors rather than pages: Figo. Our guide to tracking competitor website changes shows the free manual way first.
- Still technical, still solo, still under 25 monitors: stay on Distill's free plan. It is hard to beat.
Questions people ask
Is Distill free?
Yes, with limits. The free plan gives 25 monitors, 5 of which can run in the cloud, 1,000 cloud checks a month at most every 6 hours, and 30 alert emails a month.
What is the difference between Distill local and cloud monitors?
Local monitors run in Distill's browser extension or desktop app and only check while that browser or app is open. Cloud monitors run on Distill's servers and keep checking when your computer is off.
Which Distill alternatives can watch pages behind a login?
Wachete and PageCrawl both say they handle pages that need a login. Most cloud-only monitors cannot see logged-in content, which is why Distill's local monitors are popular for it.
Does Distill have a team plan?
Starter, Professional and Flexi are individual plans. Shared watchlists need Distill's Enterprise plan, which has no published price.
