Figo vs Owler for tracking competitors
Figo vs Owler. Owler tracks company news, funding and firmographics, free or $39 a month. Figo tracks marketing moves weekly. What each sees, costs and misses.
Owler and Figo both promise to help you follow competitors, and they watch completely different layers. Owler is company intelligence: profiles for more than 20 million companies, revenue and headcount estimates, funding history, acquisitions, news and a competitor graph, with emails about the companies you follow. Figo watches marketing: what a rival changed this week in their ads, pages, prices, rankings, social posts and reviews.
So Figo vs Owler is not really a head-to-head. Owler is better at telling you what is happening to a company. Figo is better at telling you what a company is doing to win your customers. Most people searching for an Owler alternative want the second thing, and it is a different category of tool.
Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.

Where Owler is better
Breadth. Owler has more than 20 million company profiles, and on Pro you can follow as many companies as you like. Figo watches a fixed number of competitors in depth.
Corporate events. Funding rounds, acquisitions and company news arrive in Owler's alerts and daily emails. A rival raising money or being bought is a strategic signal, and Figo will not tell you about it.
Finding who you compete with. Owler's competitor graph, which it says maps more than 45 million competitive relationships, suggests direct and indirect competitors you may not have listed. In Figo you have to know who to add. If you are unsure, how to find your real competitors is the manual route.
Sales prospecting. Owler pitches itself to sales teams as much as anyone: lists, advanced search, a Chrome extension on Pro, and contact data. Enterprise adds firmographic, competitor and news APIs plus Marketo and CRM integrations. Figo has none of this.
Price. The free Community plan follows up to 5 companies, though it allows only one profile view and one daily snapshot a month. Pro is $39 a month billed annually. Figo has no free plan and starts at $49 a month.
Where Figo is better
It sees the marketing. Owler will not show you a rival's new Google, Meta or TikTok ads, the headline they rewrote, the plan they added to their pricing page, the keywords they started ranking for, or the 30 reviews they collected last month. That is Figo's whole job.
It reads the source directly. Figo does not need a competitor to have a rich profile in a database. It reads their website, the public ad libraries, their social profiles and their review listings, so a local business with no press coverage gets the same weekly check as a funded startup.
It tells you what to do. The Monday briefing says what changed, links each claim to its evidence, and ends with one specific action, or says it was a quiet week. See a sample briefing.
It puts your numbers next to theirs. Your own website is tracked alongside your competitors without using a slot, so rankings and reviews sit side by side.
One competitor, two tools
Say a hypothetical rival in your market announces a funding round in March.
Owler tells you that week: the amount, the investors, perhaps a news story about their plans. That is the moment you learn they have money.
Figo shows you over the next two months what they spend it on: a new landing page for a service you also sell, a dozen new Meta ads pointing at it, a pricing page that drops its entry plan, and a run of new Google reviews. That is the moment you learn what they are doing with the money, and what to do in response.
Both are useful. Neither tells you the other half.
Which to use, and when
Pick Owler if you sell to companies and need firmographics and news on prospects, you follow dozens of companies loosely, or you want funding and acquisition news for little or no money. Owler alternatives covers the other company data tools.
Pick Figo if you are a marketer or agency who needs to know each week what a few named rivals changed in their ads, pages, prices, search, social and reviews. Plans and limits are on the pricing page.
Do not pick Figo if you need company firmographics, revenue or headcount estimates, funding news, news alerts across the web or contact data. Figo has none of them.
Use both if you want the full picture for little money. Owler's Community tier follows 5 companies at no cost, and Figo Starter watches 3 of them for $49 a month. If you want to check a rival's size yourself, finding a private company's revenue shows the free sources.
Questions people ask
Is Owler free?

Are Owler's revenue and employee figures accurate?
For private companies they are estimates, not reported figures, and Owler draws partly on contributions from its user community. Use them for a sense of scale, never for planning or quoting.
Does Figo track funding rounds or leadership changes?
No. Figo does not cover news, funding, hires or company firmographics. It watches marketing activity: ads, pages, prices, rankings, social posts and reviews.
Can I use Owler and Figo together?
Yes, and Owler's Community tier keeps that cheap because it costs nothing. Owler for corporate news on up to 5 companies, Figo for what those same companies change in their marketing each week.
