The best competitor price tracking tools in 2026

Ecommerce price monitors, the cheaper option for service businesses watching a pricing page, and what each one actually costs.

Two quite different problems get called price tracking, and the tools for each cost an order of magnitude apart.

Catalogue monitoring. You sell 4,000 products and need to know where each one sits against five competitors, every day. This needs a dedicated ecommerce price monitor.

Pricing page watching. You are a service business or a SaaS with four plans, and you want to know when a competitor changes theirs. This needs a $12 change monitor, and buying anything more is wasted money.

Work out which one you have before reading further.

For catalogues

Prisync is the best known of the mid market options. It does not publish a clear price on its pricing page at the time of reading, which means a quote. Expect per product and per competitor based pricing.

Price2Spy, Competera, Wiser and Intelligence Node cover the same ground at increasing size and price. Almost all of them price on SKU count times competitor count, so the number to estimate before any demo is products multiplied by rivals.

What to check in every demo:

  1. Matching accuracy. The hard part is not fetching prices, it is knowing that their SKU is your SKU. Ask what percentage matches automatically and what happens to the rest.
  2. Marketplace coverage. Amazon, eBay and regional marketplaces behave differently from ordinary sites.
  3. Stock status. A competitor's lower price does not matter if they are out of stock, and good tools capture this.
  4. Repricing. Some tools only report. Some will change your prices automatically. Be very clear which you are buying.
  5. What happens when a site changes layout. Every scraper breaks. Ask about their recovery time.

For pricing pages

Cheaper and simpler. Any change monitor works.

Two setup tips that make the difference between useful and ignored.

Select just the pricing table. Watching the whole page means every banner change triggers an alert.

Screenshot on every change. You want the history. Knowing a competitor raised their entry tier twice in a year is a far more useful fact than knowing today's number.

What the price alone will not tell you

The number changed. Fine. The questions that follow are the ones that matter, and no price tool answers them.

  • Did they change what is included at that price, or just the number?
  • Did they add or remove a tier?
  • Did they change the annual discount?
  • Did they start showing prices in your currency?
  • Did they move a feature from the entry tier to a higher one, which is a price rise that does not look like one?

That last one is the most common and the most missed. Watching only the dollar figure misses it entirely, which is why screenshots beat numeric alerts for pricing pages.

Where a competitor monitor fits

If pricing is one of several things you want to watch, a general competitor monitor covers it alongside the rest. Competitors App at $14.90 a month and our own Figo at $49 both watch pages including pricing, and Figo adds rankings, content, ads on three networks, social, reviews and AI visibility on the same weekly run with a written briefing.

For a catalogue of thousands of SKUs, neither is the right tool and a dedicated price monitor is. For four plans on a pricing page, a dedicated price monitor is expensive overkill.

The short answer

  • Thousands of products: a dedicated ecommerce price monitor, and budget for the matching work.
  • A pricing page: ChangeTower at $12, with screenshots on.
  • Pricing plus everything else: a general competitor monitor.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between price tracking and change monitoring?

Price tracking tools parse product catalogues and extract structured prices across thousands of SKUs. Change monitors just tell you a page looks different. For ecommerce you need the first. For a SaaS pricing page the second is enough.

Do I need a price tracking tool if I have ten products?

No. A change monitor on each competitor's pricing page at $12 a month does the job. Dedicated price monitoring earns its cost somewhere in the hundreds of SKUs.

Is scraping competitor prices legal?

Collecting publicly displayed prices is generally accepted practice and the tools in this category operate openly. Terms of service, rate limits and local law still apply, so take your own advice for your market.

How often should prices be checked?

Daily for most retail. Hourly only in categories that genuinely reprice intraday, because the alert volume is otherwise unmanageable.
