iSpionage alternatives after the 2025 shutdown

iSpionage shut down in 2025 and its domain now redirects to TapClicks. These iSpionage alternatives cover PPC competitor research, with prices and free options.

iSpionage has shut down, so if you are here because your PPC competitor research tool disappeared, you are not imagining it. The ispionage.com domain now redirects to TapClicks, whose page says "iSpionage has officially shut down as of 07/09/2025" and asks people not to book a demo expecting iSpionage tools. TapClicks sells reporting on your own SEO, GA4 and campaign data; it does not offer iSpionage's competitor research. In our study of 46 competitor research tools' search traffic, iSpionage's estimated visits had faded to zero by January 2026.

The good news is that every part of iSpionage is available elsewhere, and the core part, seeing a competitor's live Google ads, is free from Google itself. Below are iSpionage alternatives for each job it did.

Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.

What iSpionage did, so you replace the right parts

An archived copy of ispionage.com from December 2024 lists its products:

  • Competitor Research: competitors' PPC keywords and ad copy with an effectiveness score, plus SEO keywords and landing page snapshots.
  • SEM Watch: monitoring of local and national paid search campaigns, impression share benchmarks, and a "Users' Journey" report running from ad to keyword to landing page.
  • SEO Watch: keyword ranking monitoring across Google and Bing, with share of voice.
  • Coverage: Google, Yahoo and Bing, in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

No single tool now does all of that in one place. Most former users replace it with two things: a keyword-level PPC research tool, and a way to keep an eye on competitors' live ads.

SpyFu, the closest replacement

SpyFu was built around the question iSpionage answered: which keywords does a competitor buy, and what do their ads say. Basic is $39 a month ($29 billed yearly) with 10,000 row results and 1 user. Pro + AI is $59 for the first month, then $119 ($89 billed yearly), with unlimited results and more than 10 years of history. Instead of a trial there is a 30 day money-back guarantee. Our SpyFu alternatives page covers where it falls short.

Pick SpyFu if you used iSpionage mainly for competitors' PPC keywords and ad copy history.

Semrush Advertising Toolkit, if you also need SEO

Semrush now sells PPC research as a separate Advertising Toolkit. Base is $99 a month billed annually and includes Advertising Research (competitors' positions, position changes and ad copies), competitor keyword analysis and Google Shopping ads research. Pro, at $220 a month billed annually, adds competitors' display, video and social ads and their landing pages. The SEO toolkit is a separate subscription from $139 a month.

Pick Semrush if you want PPC and SEO competitor research from one vendor and can commit annually.

Similarweb, for the market view

Similarweb estimates traffic and channel mix for any site, and its Ads Intel suite sits in the sales-led business packages. Self-serve plans start "from $125/mo" according to its pricing page metadata, but the plan details did not display. Before you rely on any traffic figure, read how accurate traffic estimates are.

Pick Similarweb if you need market-level traffic data and ads are one part of the question.

The free route: Google's own data

The Google Ads Transparency Center shows the ads a verified advertiser runs on Search, YouTube and Display, by region and date. It is Google's own record, so it is more reliable than any third-party ad history, but it shows no keywords, positions or spend.

Auction Insights, inside your own Google Ads account, shows which competitors enter the same auctions as you, with impression share, overlap rate and how often they appear above you. It is the nearest free equivalent of iSpionage's impression share benchmarks, limited to the auctions you take part in. Our guide to Google Ads Auction Insights explains each column.

For Bing, Microsoft runs a public Ad Library; our Microsoft Ads library guide covers what it shows.

Pick the free route if you only need to see competitors' current ads and your own auction overlap, not their keywords.

Figo, to watch named competitors' Google ads every week

Ours, so judge accordingly. Figo reads the Google Ads Transparency Center, plus the Meta and TikTok ad libraries, for each competitor you track once a week, and alerts you by email and Slack when new ads appear. The same check covers their new pages, pricing, Google rankings and estimated organic traffic, social posts and reviews, written up in a Monday briefing. $49 a month for 3 competitors, $99 for 8, $249 for 20 across 5 client workspaces.

It does not show the keywords a competitor bids on, ad positions, impression share, CPCs or spend, and it does not cover Bing or Yahoo. For those, use SpyFu or Semrush alongside it. Figo vs SpyFu sets out the split.

Pick Figo if you used iSpionage's SEM Watch to keep tabs on a few named rivals and mostly want to know when their ads change.

Rebuilding the iSpionage workflow

A practical replacement for most former users:

  1. Keywords and ad copy history: SpyFu Basic, or Semrush if you also need SEO.
  2. What is live right now: the Transparency Center, checked by hand each week or by a monitor.
  3. Who you are actually up against: Auction Insights in your own account.
  4. Landing pages: a page monitor on competitors' main landing pages, or a competitor monitor that picks up new pages as they appear.

The full method, step by step, is in our guide to PPC competitor analysis.

Questions people ask

Is iSpionage still available?

No. TapClicks, which ispionage.com now redirects to, says iSpionage "has officially shut down as of 07/09/2025" and asks people not to book a demo expecting to see iSpionage tools.

Did TapClicks replace iSpionage's competitor research?

No. TapClicks is a marketing reporting platform, and its iSpionage page points former users to reporting on their own SEO, GA4 and campaign data, not to competitor ad research.

What is the closest tool to iSpionage?

SpyFu. It answers the same core question, which keywords competitors buy on Google and what their ads say, with long history, from $39 a month or $29 a month billed yearly.

Can I see a competitor's Google ads for free?

Yes. Google's Ads Transparency Center shows the ads a verified advertiser runs, by region and date. It does not show keywords, positions or spend.

See it on your own competitors
